We recently had the privilege of embarking on an extraordinary trip to New York, where we connected with distinguished firms and successful alumni. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our alumni Francisco Yañez, Max Boudreaux, Jordy Albert, and Thomas Shamet for their invaluable contributions to this experience.

Our journey began at J.P. Morgan, where our esteemed alumnus Francisco Yañez welcomed us. We had the unique opportunity to attend the morning meeting, gaining valuable insights from current analysts, economists, equity strategists, and a managing director. The campus recruitment team graciously shared their expertise on navigating the recruitment process as well.

Next, we had the pleasure of visiting Max Boudreaux at Redburn, a leading independent research and execution firm now majority-owned by Rothschild & Co. Max provided us with an extensive tour of the office, including the trading floor, and imparted an in-depth understanding of Redburn’s operations and core services. We are truly grateful for his time and the knowledge he shared.

Our third stop was with Jordy Albert at Walkabout Ventures, a seed-focused venture fund investing in financial service startups. Jordy’s insights into the world of venture capital and the exciting startups they support were both educational and inspiring. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from his experiences in this dynamic sector.

In addition to our meetings with alumni, we enjoyed touring the United Nations.

The day ended with an insightful dinner with James Stoeffel, Principal and Portfolio Manager at Royce Investment Partners. Mr. Stoeffel generously shared his experiences and wisdom, providing our members with a deeper understanding of the industry and valuable guidance for their future careers.

On our second day, we visited Accenture and met with Thomas Shamet. Thomas generously shared insights on consulting, recruiting, and the impact of AI in finance. We were also privileged to attend a meeting focused on AI in the financial industry.

Finally, our trip concluded with an exceptional tour of the iconic Bloomberg Office in New York. We were truly captivated by the state-of-the-art facilities and the incredible work being done there.

Thank you to the University of Tulsa Collins College of Business, James Stoeffel, Francisco Yañez, Max Boudreaux, Jordy Albert, and Thomas Shamet for making this happen!

We cannot express our gratitude enough to their insights, and for making this trip an unparalleled learning experience for all of us. We are confident that the knowledge and connections gained during this trip will greatly benefit our members and contribute to our ongoing growth and success.
